I watched local news this evening and found that in 2009, there are 1 Trillion text messages sent in US, 10 times of three years ago. There are about 300 Million people in US. So on average, each person sent 3300 message a year, about 10 messages per person per day.
It is illegal to text while driving in California and some other states.
